Overview

The ultimate version of this bike which I’ve had for 2 years. Featured in “Bikebound” after its appearance at the London BikeShed show last year the article is worth a look, although the detailed review was prior to recent addition of the cowl and some other small tweeks but it’s a very complete overview. The bike was also on display at this years show. All work has been expertly carried out by BHC Motorcycles in Northampton. The donor bike (the superb Hornet 600) was a very well cared for machine with no visible signs of crash damage. HPI showed it was clear and MOT history was commensurate with milage shown. A new MOT is being sorted this week. To give the bike a retro look, the tank was replaced with a brand new facsimile of a 70’s era machine and fitted with a polished spring loaded filler. The rear frame was fabricated to cantilever the new alcantara diamond stitched seat. Clip ons have been fitted but with a slight rise to aid comfort and the rear lowered (with a powder coated spring to match the candy details on the tank) which helps shorter and taller riders alike. You can, easily run the tank dry and ride between filling up without any discomfort. The rims and swingarm have been polished. The cockpit is stripped with keyless go and retro digital dial and minimal switchgear. Bar end indicators sit at the end of Domino throttle and grips. The rear lights are a digital LED bar wrapped around the rear seat and sit above a custom, minimal, fabricated reg plate hanger. Hornet engines are so strong it was decided to leave in the airbox in to ensure fueling was unaffected and reliability was maintained rather than fit pod filters. The ugly expansion tank, however, was removed and replaced with a cute polished aluminium bottle on the offside. It has a stubby short pipe which sounds AMAZING. Free delivery can be arranged within a reasonable distance from Northampton. The drone video (follow the link) was filmed this month at an official Lamborghini UK event. For sizing reference, I am 6″ tall with 32″ inside leg and weigh 100KG. The tank and cowl is all pearl paint (no stickers) and other parts have been powder coated gloss black. That said, this is NO garage queen and it has some great patina which shows it’s got purpose. Call Steve 07809 474251
