Red Kite Kustom : 2025 BikeShed Show shed-built entry.
This custom motorcycle started life when I bought a 1986 ex-Polizia 850-T5 in January 2024 with the sole intention of building a cafe racer with a difference for the 2025 BikeShed Show. Fast forward to May 2025 and I realised my dream.
The bike was in a prominent position in the Shed Built hall of the show and was shown in numerous YouTube clips including an interview with the vlogger RubyRides (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59Pg7nLAQU0)
I’m told that Ewan MacGregor was impressed too !!
The story of the transformation is just too extensive to detail but the only elements of the original bike that remain are the (modified) frame, (modified) engine/gearbox and wheels/brakes. Everything else is new or refurbished with many bespoke built and high-end components fitted.
The main outstanding feature of the build is the custom-built polished stainless exhaust system that passes centrally between the heads, under the tank/seat & exits through the rear hump.
I can provide numerous pictures/clips of the build from start to finish on a USB stick should the new owner wish.
The motorcycle has just passed a strict by-the-book MOT to demonstrate its roadworthiness and is ready to ride with a V5C in my name, 2 keys and a fat file full of invoices.
One of the attached images is a list of all the components/specialists involved that will give you some idea as to the final build cost…..I’m simply trying to recoup some of my hard-earned !!
The bike has less than 20 miles since the build and I’d urge any prospective buyer to arrange a visit to see & hear before making any decisions. It’s fast & loud !! The bike will be sold as is and with no guarantees or warranties expressed or implied. The paddock stand will be part of the sale.
